You will play a pivotal role in supporting the ongoing success of our business. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, you will ensure the profitable pricing of risks and identification of potential growth opportunities, focusing on our Heavy Motor and MPE products.
What you'll be doing:
Reporting to the Underwriting Operations Team Leader, you will be an essential member of a highly skilled team. At the centre of our team is the drive to ensure that all our customers experience quality service through the delivery of expertise by a team that know and understand the industries that we are immersed in. Each member of team focusses on risks that will maintain profitable and sustainable business practices for NTI. You will do this by:
Managing Renewals, endorsements, and new business opportunities to attain financial targets
Developing expertise on underwriting issues across the portfolio
Ensuring implementation and compliance of the underwriting strategy, risk appetite, license authorities, risk controls, systems, and procedures across the portfolio.
Ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines, business plans, priorities, and processes
Being involved in the identification of and pricing/policy negotiation with the Business Development team
What we'd like to see from you:
As an experienced Heavy Motor / MPE Fleet Underwriter, you will have been performing at a high level for at least three years, with deep connections throughout the industry, broker markets and other relevant bodies. You will be an exceptional communicator and someone who can build trust and credibility with both internal and external stakeholders. You will have:
Formal insurance qualifications – Ideally diploma level (or working towards), plus motor underwriting experience (domestic or commercial)
Working knowledge of Heavy Motor / MPE industry and understanding of relevant legislation (highly desirable)
The ability to negotiate priorities, as well as set and manage delivery expectations
Enthusiasm for organisational agility and continuous business improvement
