We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive Claims Compliance Manager to lead NTI’s first-line compliance activities and strengthen operational compliance across our national Claims function.

Reporting to the National Continuous Improvement Manager, this role gives you the opportunity to:

  • Shape Compliance Excellence - Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of NTI’s operational compliance frameworks across Claims.

  • Champion Governance -  Embed compliance obligations into everyday operations and support adherence to AFSL requirements and the General Insurance Code of Practice.

  • Drive Risk Maturity - Test and monitor controls, identify gaps, and lead improvement initiatives that enhance NTI’s risk and compliance capability.

  • Lead Regulatory Change -  Assess regulatory updates, implement required changes, and ensure policies, procedures and guidelines remain current and effective.

  • Build Capability & Culture - Partner with our Training Team to design, develop and deliver training that uplifts compliance awareness and embeds a strong compliance culture.

  • Influence Outcomes - Collaborate with senior leaders, operational stakeholders and experts across NTI to strengthen governance and support continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Leading the implementation and ongoing improvement of NTI’s Operational Compliance Framework across Claims.

  • Monitoring, testing and reviewing compliance controls; providing corrective advice where required.

  • Coordinating the implementation of new or changed regulatory obligations within Claims.

  • Drafting, maintaining and enhancing compliance-related policies, processes and guidelines.

  • Conducting proactive monitoring and testing to ensure operational procedures and controls are effective.

  • Supporting internal audits and engaging with 2nd Line Compliance and Internal Audit teams.

  • Identifying weaknesses, systemic issues or emerging risks and presenting insights to leadership.

  • Ensuring timely reporting, investigation and remediation of incidents.

  • Preparing compliance reports and supporting governance activities across the Claims portfolio.

  • Designing and delivering compliance training, workshops and capability-building initiatives.

  • Collaborating with project teams, operational leaders and governance stakeholders on improvement initiatives.

What we’ll love about you:

You will be an experienced, confident and highly capable compliance or risk professional who brings strong judgement, analytical ability and a passion for doing things the right way. You will ideally have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management or a related discipline (desirable).

  • Tertiary qualifications in Compliance or Risk Management (desirable).

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in operational risk or compliance, ideally in insurance or financial services.

  • Strong understanding of compliance standards and the Three Lines of Defence model.

  • Experience uplifting business compliance/risk maturity and implementing supporting tools and frameworks.

  • Experience liaising with executive and senior leadership stakeholders.

  • High-level analytical skills and strong business acumen.

  • Ability to identify risks, design effective controls and deliver practical, business-focused solutions.

  • Excellent influencing, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Strong report writing, facilitation and presentation capability.

  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships (including regulators and industry groups).
