Our team is expanding! Working within a small actuarial team responsible for pricing all portfolios and implementing strategies across the business, you will have autonomy and ownership over your work, and the opportunity to create enhancements that add tangible value to the business. Utilising the full breadth of actuarial techniques, you will directly support the long term, sustainable growth and profitability of the insurance and non-insurance suite of products at NTI - not just involved in pricing, but every aspect of the business.   

 

Day to day, your role will involve:

  • Design, build and enhance existing portfolio monitoring analytics to support a deep understanding of portfolio performance and identify opportunities and new insights
  • Carrying out comprehensive portfolio reviews and prepare stakeholder reports, suggesting rate and portfolio actions designed and calibrated to meet stakeholder and customer needs
  • Developing, implementing and enhancing technical actuarial models using best practice and innovative techniques
  • Challenge existing processes and lead change to streamline, innovate and automate
  • Collaborating closely with Business Intelligence and IT teams to manage Actuarial requirements
  • Support the Actuarial team in the design and delivery of strategic initiatives

 

What we’d love to see from you:

We are ideally looking for candidates with 2-4 years’ experience. As your role will primarily focus on the Commercial Motor and Fleet portfolios, pricing experience in these areas would be well regarded. With our team growing in size and sophistication, you will add value to NTI through your experience in insurance and passion for innovation. In addition, you will have:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a technical discipline such as Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics or similar quantitative field
  • Associate or Fellow of a recognised Actuarial Institute or Society, or in the process of obtaining
  • A strong customer focus, work ethic, and commitment to excellence
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience using statistical software [Emblem, Radar, R] and programming languages [SQL, Python or similar] (advantageous)
  • Experience in data visualisation tools [Power BI, Tableau] (advantageous)
