After strong practice showings with both cars, it was solid start to the Walkinshaw Andretti United team’s trip across the ditch, with both cars finishing inside the top 10, and Chaz just missing out on a podium in the first of three races of weekend.
When the race got underway, Nick avoided the carnage despite being the meat in the sandwich off the line.Once again, the pitstops were lightening quick from the crew, with both making spots in the lane.
“A much better result from where we have been so that’s really pleasing for everyone in the team, nice to see the Mobil 1 NTI wagon further up the front,” said Nick Percat.

What started as a tough weekend in both practice sessions and qualifying took a turn for the better in race 27 with Todd making his way forward through the field 8 positions to finish 15th. It was unfortunate that Jack suffered a power steering failure and ended up 8 laps down as he was on target to finish in a similar position to Todd.
Excellent job from all our mechanics to get the power steering pump changed onboard car #34 in approximately 8 minutes and get Jack back on track in time to still be classified and score championship points!
The race went well for us opting to make the most of the clear air and run long. We had a great strategy and were able to keep it clean, making a few spots and climb forward,” said Todd Hazelwood.

It was another good day in Auckland, with Chaz standing on the podium in the first race of the day, and a double top-10 to round out the weekend.
After a blinder of a start from fifth in race 28, Chaz put his stamp on the front of the field, picking off cars early. Nick had moved into the top 10 with good speed, however a brush with the wall dropped him slightly down the order, eventually finishing 14th, but living to fight another day.
“Awesome to get that trophy in race 28, car was great, race played out well, and it was just great to reward the entire team with a good result,” Chaz said.
RACE 28
Chaz Mostert – 2nd
Nick Percat – 14th
The final ever race around Pukekohe, and there was plenty happening from the start. After an early safety car, Percat was the first car to stop, looking for clear air, while Mostert went the long way around, looking for tyre life late.
Both ran in relatively clear air for the race, with Nick solidly in ninth, but Chaz making some moves late to go into sixth.
“Everyone has worked really hard to get Car 2 back towards the pointy end again so a big thanks to all involved, there were certainly some good signs across the weekend, and now we get to focus on Bathurst which I can’t wait for,” said Nick.

Farewell Pukekohe Park Raceway!
It was yet another character building day for the entire team however, we did see some potential onboard car #34 during both qualifying sessions and the first race on Sunday prior to sustaining a front right suspension failure.
Our pit stop crew had a mega weekend on the guns, executing fast and clean stops in every race, including a 3.21 stop during Race 28. Pit stops can make or break your race, so for our team to be able to execute and complete stops at this speed make a big difference.
"Solid qualifying for us on Sunday and we were on for P11 in race 28 before a right front suspension failure. We had some solid speed which was nice. The big dance at Bathurst is up next so let's see what we get! Big thank you to the whole team, it's been tough but I can't thank you all enough for digging deep!" – Jack Le Brocq
