The Position:

Due to ongoing demand for analytic driven outcomes and ‘smart’, ‘predictive’ use of data, we are currently looking for a commercially experienced data science practitioner (Data Scientist) to join our Data Science team on a 12 month fixed term contract.

Reporting to the Manager of Data Science, you will contribute directly into project initiative as well as support key BAU improvements and participate in R & D activities in a mixed capacity. Working both independently and collaboratively with various business and technical stakeholder you will be required to:

  • Develop and qualify machine learning proposition
  • Unpick hidden truth, trends and anomalies, from a variety of input sources and types
  • Train, test and evaluate predicative models, and
  • Integrate and implement predictive outcome to core business functions

Required Experience: 

  • A minimum of five years’ experience as Data Scientist or equivalent capacity
  • Demonstrated cases/example of end-to-end business value delivery employing ML and predictive analytics
  • Demonstrated experience integrating predictive outcome into backend systems and business processes
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile project delivery methodologies; working in and with a diverse range of project roles in tight delivery time-frame
  • Tertiary qualification in Mathematics/Statistics/Physics/Engineering/Computer Science


Technical Experience:

  • Applied knowledge in Supervised, Unsupervised and Ensembled learnings: RF/GBM, Neural Networks and PCA/TSNE/K-Means
  • Applied knowledge and use of the following languages and tools: Python/R, SQL, Docker/Git/Linux
  • Past experience and exposure on the following topics: NLP, pyTorch, Geospatial
