Road profiler Description

A road profiler is used to strip the surface off existing road to an accurate level so that a new surface can be laid.  They are typically used in road works, however recent innovation has seen these machines adapted to mining applications.

They are used to mine minerals such as iron ore and salt using the same process they use on roads - a cylindrical rotating drum with cutting edges.

Road profilers excavate the material and then, using a conveyor belt, put it in a truck for removal from the site to a stockpile.

These machines are also vailable in a rubber tyre version with the ability to do soil stabilisation operations.
