Concrete agitator Description

A concrete agitator, commonly known as a concrete mixer, transports and mixes concrete from a batching plant to a construction site. They generally comprise a standard rigid truck with a concrete agitator bowl fitted to the rear of the vehicle.

When the agitator bowl is full of concrete the truck engine, through a power take-off, keeps the agitator bowl spinning to prevent the concrete from setting. Once at a job site the motion of the agitator bowl can be reversed to push out the amount of concrete required through a chute from the rear of the vehicle.
