Compactor body Description

A compactor body, commonly called a garbage truck, is designed to collect waste and transport it to a waste station or refuse facility.

Compactor bodies usually have a lifting mechanism, allowing bins to be quickly and easily lifted and waste to be tipped into the body of the truck. The lifting mechanism can be at the front, rear or side of the compactor body.

Once loaded, the waste is then compacted by a hydraulically powered moving wall inside the body. When the body is full the waste is transported to and deposited at the waste station.
