Forklift Description

A forklift is a powered truck used to lift and move materials. They are commonly used on wharfs and in warehouses, construction sites and manufacturing facilities.

Forklifts have pronged attachments that extend from the device. The prongs are inserted under the load to be lifted and raised above the ground by a mast which can also be tilted to relocate the centre of gravity. Once lifted, the load can be moved to another location by the operator.

Forklifts come in a range of sizes and capacities from a small hand-held and operated truck to a large motorised truck with a cab for the operator and a very large load limit.
