Concrete pumping machine Description

Concrete pumping involves the transfer of liquid concrete through pipes and hoses via a pumping mechanism. There are three types of concrete pumps including a boom pump, line pump and a stationery-trailer line pump.

The concrete pump shown here is a stationary-trailer line pump. Concrete placing hoses made from rubber or steel are attached to the line pump and the outlet of the machine. The hoses are linked together and lead to the position where the concrete needs to be placed.

The concrete is obtained from the concrete mixer which empties the concrete into the line pump hopper.

Line pumps normally pump concrete at lower volumes than boom pumps and are therefore used for smaller-volume concrete placing applications such as driveways and swimming pools
