When Robert Lang of RJ & DM Lang in Rockhampton received the news that this very thing had happened, he was devastated. Upon hearing that the driver Jarod, who is also Robert’s son, wasn’t seriously injured he felt very relieved. According to Robert, from then on the news just
kept getting better.
“Within one hour of reporting the incident to our broker I’d received a call from our insurer, NTI,” Robert explained. “They said NTI Accident Assist would manage everything to do with the accident scene and assured me they’d work hard to get our truck back on the road in no time at all, but of course I reserved my judgement because I maintain the proof of the pudding is in the eating.”
“True to their word though, within 48-hours the truck was with Royan Truck and Trailer Repairs in Brisbane. It was assessed immediately and work commenced.”
“We received updates at least once a week from Royan’s, including photos so we could actually see the progress they were making – we actually felt like we were down in Brisbane with them,” Robert added. “They kept each and every promise they made to us and returned our truck as
quick as humanly possible.”
“The quality of their work was outstanding. As you might imagine the truck was in a real mess when it went in. It came back in showroom condition. Nothing was overlooked; NTI even replaced the fridge in the cab – that was the icing on the cake.”
Robert’s small family-owned business relies upon the late-model Western Star prime mover to keep their commitments to their customers, including Teys Brothers. They use three different trailers on the prime mover, and from their Rockhampton base they regularly travel to
Mackay, Emerald and Bundaberg.
“Insurance – it’s one of those things you’ve got to have but hope to never use,” Robert said. “NTI obviously has a very good system in place. Their ability to support us at the accident scene, including managing the clean-up and helping the driver, and getting the repair happening so quickly made things incredibly easy for us and meant we were on the road sooner.”
“They also have a very good relationship with their repairers, but not only that, we think their repairers are the best in the business. Royan’s took their responsibilities very seriously and their attention to detail was outstanding.”
“I’d say we got the kind of service money can’t buy,” Robert said. “We regularly come across people in this business who have horror stories about their insurance company and the claims they’ve made. We’re quick to say that based on our experience with NTI, we can’t concur! Instead we tell everyone how good NTI is.”
