Our Executive Team

 


Tony Clark
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)


Tony was named Chief Executive Officer of National Transport Insurance in August 2007, assuming full management responsibility for the delivery of the company's mission, to be Australia's leading heavy motor insurer.

 

As Chief Executive Officer, he is responsible for providing strategic direction for all NTI business units. Together with the executive team, he is focused on continuing NTI's innovation and leadership in the industry,  implementing NTI's quality products and service differentiation through our expertise in the truck and machinery market.

 

Prior to joining NTI in 2001, Tony held senior roles with Fortis, RACV and GIO over a 28 year career in the insurance industry.  He brings a wealth of insurance experience to the role.

 

Tony holds a Master of Business Administration, is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF), a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and has also completed Strategic Leadership and Strategic Marketing post graduate studies at the Mt. Eliza Business School. 

 


Jeremy Mitchell
Chief Financial Officer

Jeremy has over 15 years experience in the insurance industry both in Australia and the United Kingdom, where he worked with Zurich Financial Services. 
  

 

As Chief Financial Officer, he leads a team of finance professionals responsible for ensuring best practice financial management, compliance and corporate governance programs are in place at NTI.  He is also Company Secretary.
 

Jeremy holds a Master of Economics (Honours) and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA). He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

  


John Brereton
General Manager, People and Technology 


John’s career has been extensively involved in strategic business planning, management consulting, employee engagement and organisational development.
 
Prior to joining NTI, John held General Manager Human Resources roles with Austotel (Brierley Investments) and ALH Group (Carlton & United Breweries) as well as A/Head of School, Griffith University and Director of Personnel, Sheraton Mirage, Gold Coast & Sheraton Breakwater Casino Hotel.  He has also been a management consultant to leading national and international organisations in insurance, hospitality, waste management and education.
 
As General Manager, People and Technology, John’s areas of responsibility include continuously improving the engagement, leadership, productivity and learning of NTI People, as well as upgrading and aligning NTI’s major information systems and telecommunications capabilities with long term business goals.
 
John holds a Master of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Business (Personnel Psychology) and is a Chartered Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute.

 


Bryce Hatton
General Manager, Underwriting Operations
 

Prior to joining NTI, Bryce held positions with GRE Insurance and Zurich Insurance in a variety of roles including underwriting, sales, business development and branch management. He also spent time as an insurance broker with a medium sized, city based firm.

 

In these roles he gained extensive experience in developing business, managing portfolios, and leading and motivating teams.

 

As General Manager, Underwriting Operations, Bryce is responsible for all underwriting, products and pricing in both Australia and New Zealand.

 

Bryce is affiliate of the Australian Insurance Institute and a member of the Australian Institute of management. He has completed a Strategic Management Certificate at the Mt Eliza Business School and a certificate of Advanced Management at the Melbourne Business School. 

  


Michael Edmonds
General Manager, Sales and Distribution    


Michael was appointed to this position in 2011 and has overall responsibility for ensuring NTI's specialist value proposition is delivered to the Australian and New Zealand markets. 

 

This includes leadership of the company's sales, marketing, corporate affairs, and local distribution offices across Australia and New Zealand.

 

He has over 10 years insurance experience in senior management positions which is further complimented by previous senior roles in the transport industry.

 

Michael is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance & Finance, and a Certified Insurance Professional.  He holds a Master of Business Administration. 

 


Peter Burtenshaw
General Manager, Market Development

Peter joined NTI in 2009 as the State Manager for Western Australia.  He has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry, including seven years as an insurance broker. 
  

 

He has also held senior management roles responsible for Underwriting, Claims and Reinsurance with GIO.

 

As General Manager, Market Development, Peter is responsible for developing strategic relationship and markets with global broking groups, national distribution groups, shareholders and the transport industry.
 

Peter holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking).

  


Alan Hasted
General Manager, Claims Operations

Alan was appointed to this position in 2011 and has overall responsibility for NTI's Claims, Assessing, Parts Purchasing and Repairs teams across Australia and New Zealand.

 

He joined NTI in 1994 and has held several senior claims management roles within the organisation.
 

Alan is currently studying a Master of Business Administration, specialising in Innovation.
